Successful ploughing for Irish motor trade

At the Kia Ireland stand was Aidan Doyle, Head of Marketing & PR, Kia Ireland; with Eamon Wilkinson and Colin Swan.
With some 280,000 visitors over the three days, the National Ploughing Championships is big for a lot of things agricultural, but it has also become the biggest motor show event in Ireland, writes Brian Byrne.

More than 30 motor industry related companies exhibited amongst all the agricultural machinery, services, animals, feed and other elements of Ireland's most important industry. Those who make the annual pilgrimage to the massive show that has built up around the actual ploughing competition are serious car buyers too.

At the SsangYong Ireland stand were Bill Cullen, SsangYong dealer; Joe Harris, Harris Commercials; Jackie Lavin; Eoin Mulvihill, SsangYong Ireland; and John Keogh, SsangYong Ireland.
Talking to those manning the car stands at the event, there was a lot of interest, and most of it far deeper than just 'tyre-kicking'. And it was a recurring theme from the exhibitors, that their visitors over the show days were seriously knowledgable about their cars and SUVs and knew very clearly what they wanted in a vehicle to meet their particular work and lifestyle needs.

And many motor people were very sure that the three days of the 'Ploughing' will likely turn in a level of subsequent sales far more than any other marketing event of the year.
