A digital map for the Republic of Ireland has finally been completed by key supplier Navteq.
The work took over three years and the map is now available to carmakers to have incorporated in the systems provided by their sat-nav suppliers.
The map is also available for PDA and Smartphone instruments.
The new Navteq map includes all public roads in the Republic and every kilometre was driven and field verified by teams of NAVTEQ geographic analysts.
It covers 95,369 kilometres of road linking over 44,000 cities, towns and villages.
