Punto leads Fiat back

The Fiat Punto range has become Europe’s best-selling car in the first month of sales, according to figures just released.

Fiat Auto sold over 100,000 cars in Europe during the month, an increase of 17.9 percent compared to January 2005 and the Company’s share of the new car market increased to 8.4 percent, up 1.1 percent on the same month last year.

The Fiat Punto range -- Punto and new Grande Punto -- was the best selling range across Europe for the month. With sales of almost 38,000 units it was ahead of the Ford Focus and Renault Clio.
