Toyota leading car sales

Toyota is leading the Irish market in new car sales, with 10,425 units sold up to March 10.

Ford is number two, with 8,680 units, and VW has boosted its sales by more than 50 percent compared to last year to the number three slot with 8,186 cars sold.

Nissan and Opel round out the top five with 6,023 and 5,527 units respectively.

The market to date is 7.1 percent higher than in the same period last year.
