New X3 cheaper, cleaner

BMW's new generation X3 will be more than €4,000 cheaper than the outgoing model when it goes on sale in Ireland at €45,810.

To be launched here in November, it will come initially with a new 184hp 2.0 diesel engine and 4WD. This will account for 80 percent of sales here when the full engines range is available next year.

It will be a Band C car for taxation purposes, down from Band E in the current car.
