Rate your own driving to lower insurance

Irrespective of your current insurance provider, No Nonsense car insurance company has just launched a free Smartphone app to empower all drivers on Irish roads to assess their own driving skills with a view to securing up to a 30 percent reduction on their insurance costs.

The TopDriver app analyses how well you drive and it then compares your driving to that of a panel of advanced drivers.

The app rates your across four dimensions: Pace, Calmness, Smoothness and Anticipation.

It's easy to use as once downloaded and initial registration has taken place, you simply press the start button as you set out on each car journey and the stop button when you've arrived at your destination.

If they choose, drivers can go on to save up to 15 percent off the cost of No Nonsense Smart Driver insurance at the point of purchase. You then temporarily self-install a small plug-in telematics device in the car which confirms your driving behaviour. Safe drivers will get a further 15 percent cash back. It's expected that one in three drivers will get the full 30 percent saving and as many as one in two will benefit from some saving on their current insurance cost.
