Senior motor journalist gets World Car Awards position

The Motoring Editor of the Irish Independent, Eddie Cunningham (pictured) has been appointed to the jury of the prestigious World Car Awards.

He will be the only Irish representative on the elite global jury of expert motoring journalists.

Their duties include driving and assessing cars from all over the world before, ultimately, voting for the overall World Car of the Year.

The World Car Awards is the Number One programme of its kind across the globe, according to an independent audit of media coverage.

Eddie succeeds Padraic Deane, publisher and managing editor at Automotive Publications as the Irish juror. Padraic stepped down last year after a very successful six-year term.

Padraic remains Ireland’s juror for the prestigious ‘International Engine of the Year Awards’ and the ‘Vehicle Dynamics International Awards’.

Padraic Deane wishes Eddie success in his new role.
