The new 5-door Mini Hatch has been launched in Ireland at a starting price from €20,610, writes Brian Byrne.
With a longer body, and more headroom and legroom in the rear, BMW in Ireland is expecting an extension to sales of the car in a market that very much prefers 5-door to 3-door small cars.
The new variant also has substantially more boot space at 278L, bringing it to a par with most supermini competitors for the first time.
Depending on engine version, fuel economy can get close to 80mpg equivalent.
