The Renault substantially outstripped previous leader Opel Meriva in the first-quarter sales figures, at 52,789 units against the Opel's 40,250.
In Ireland, the Meriva is still ahead of Modus sales, with 555 units against 447 for the Renault in the first four months of 2005.
