by Brian Byrne. Fiat in Ireland is trying to lure in customers by providing free flight vouchers to Europe for anyone who test-drives a car from a dealer.
The move comes against a background of plummeting sales - in a bouyant and growing Irish car market, Fiat today has only half the market share it had in 2004, and sales are down by more than 41 percent.
The Irish subsidiary recently made 11 staff redundant.
Twelve European destinations are on offer in the promotion, which is available to 30 July 2005 or until flight voucher stocks last.
