Fiat will provide a 120hp turbodiesel for Suzuki which will provide three new compact SUVs to the European market.
The vehicle is totally Suzuki-developed, but Fiat will get its own-badged versions for itself and for its Lancia division as part of the deal.
The other engines -- 1.5- and 1.6-litre petrol units -- will be Suzuki's own.
The new SUV is based on a stretched version of the Ignis platform, and a third of the 90,000 a year production will be badged Fiat or Lancia.
Fiat's last SUV, the Campagnola, was discontinued in 1987. Brian Byrne.
