Securing a stage of the World Rally Championship (WRC) for Ireland in 2007 would be worth up to €5 million.
Rally Ireland 2005 generated an economic benefit of over €2.4 million during its pilot event last October.
Organisers say that the WRC could have benefits worth over €20 million per year to the local economy.
