3 Series Coupe here in autumn

The next generation BMW 3 Series Coupe will go on sale in Ireland at the end of September, after the fuss about the Ryder Cup dies down.

The third version of the model since it was first launched in 1991, it is much more than a sedan 3 Series with a fastback roofline.

The car has its own distinct identity, with subtly redefined front and rear body treatment, as well as an interior which is definitely its own.

It is the latest iteration of BMW coupes from a long line which began in the 30s with the beautiful 327.

Prices and full specifications for the new car in the Irish context have not yet been disclosed, but when the full range of engines become available they will run from 2.0-litre to 3.0-litre, with both petrol and diesel options. The top of the line 335i petrol has a twin-turbo technology which helps give it a 5.5-second 0-100 km/h performance.
