A replacement Mitsubishi Lancer is now not expected to be available in Europe until late 2007, because Russia is a bigger market for the brand.
Russia will get the next-generation Lancer in the spring of 2006, in sedan form. The European market car will debut as a five-door hatch.
The cars will be styled like the Concept Sportback shown at Frankfurt last September.
