'Headless' shock tactics

A controversial police chief in Wales has used a photograph of a decapitated motorcyclist to drive home his anti-speeding message.

Richard Brunstrom showed the gruesome pictures to journalists and representatives from local authorities at a meeting to promote the road safety.

One image showed the man’s head, with the eyes still open, on a grass verge. It was still cased in a red and white helmet, with the visor raised.

Another image showed the man’s headless torso embedded into a car.

The group was also told that a young family was trapped inside the car for 90 minutes with the headless torso.

The families of the dead man was not aware the images were being used in the presentation. The motorcyclist has been wearing a tee-shirt which had the anti police slogan "P**s off and catch some real criminals."

Brunstrom said his force are now assessing tiny speed cameras hidden in roadside 'cats’ eyes'. BB
