French carmaker PSA Peugeot-Citroen were co-winners with BMW in the 1.4-1.8 litre category of the 2007 International Engine of the Year Award.
This was for the 1.6 litre THP (Turbo High Pressure) turbocharged engine manufactured by the company and available in the Peugeot 207 CC, GT THP 150 and GTi THP 175 models.
The engine's development was in association with BMW, which uses it in the new Mini.
There were 71 engines nominated in the 1.4 litre to 1.8 litre category, with the THP engine coming away as a clear winner with a total of 273 points. BB.
