More than four out of ten people planning to buy a new car in 2008 now plan to wait until July when the new CO2-based taxation system comes in, according to a survey by National Irish Bank.
The survey also says more than seven out of ten respondents will now consider buying a diesel car rather than a petrol one.
Some 60 percent of those surveyed said they planned to buy a car this year, and 71 percent indicated that they'll be spending less than 20,000 euros in their purchase. BB
