The company says that new features of the car include adaptive cornering headlamps, a new electronic air conditioning system and automatic parking assist.

The car will have nine airbags and a total of up to six engines will be available - three petrol and three diesel with outputs ranging from 105bhp to 260bhp.

The new Superb will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. It won't be on sale in Ireland until the end of 2008. BB
