Spain plans electric cars push

Spain is planning to cut its oil imports by putting a million electric cars on the road, and by cutting driving speeds.

The plan aims to have the cars on the road by 2014, and the speed limits will be cut by 20 percent.

In all, the country plans to cut energy use by 10 percent over two years in a bid to save €5 billion annually.

The plan will cost €245 million and contains 31 measures.
