The event brings together competitors from Ireland, north and south, as well as Wales, England and Scotland. Clerk of the course this year is Darren McCarthy who also has experience of running the Cork Forest Rally these past few years.
Despite increased costs the club has held the entry fee at the 2008 price of €630. There are 16 stages and 240km of competition mileage. Road mileage at 170km is again very low this year while service will be centralised as usual near Clonakilty.
