The scheme, which will apply between the hours of 7am-10am and 4pm-7pm, Monday to Friday, will involve no restrictions to through traffic at other hours during the day or on Saturdays and Sundays.
The scheme will involve re-routing of commuter traffic and revised access to certain car parks.
The City Council has also committed to an independent review of the scheme after the first 6 months of its operation.
