E-Class Coupe -- First Drive



So what is it about a coupe that attracts buyers to that particular genre? On the face of it, you're getting less car for more money, challenging those who might have to use the back seats. And in most cases the engines are the same ones available in the mainstream sedans on which they're based.

Well, according to Mercedes-Benz, only 10 percent of the reason to buy is fast driving. The company says also that 80 percent of what their coupe owners care about is that great indefineable, 'driving pleasure'.

The new E-Class Coupe, which will replace the CLK when it gets to Ireland in the autumn, is quite pleasurable to drive, certainly on a sunny afternoon through the winding roads of Tuscany.
