The emphasis in the Irish market for the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe will be on the E250 CDI. The car is set to launch here in September.
The car replaces the CLK model and is longer, wider and generally larger than that car.
It features fully retractable side windows has no B-pillars. With an aerodynamic efficiency rating of 0.24, the new E-Class Coupe will be the best production car in the world in this aspect.
Safety items include a system to detect driver drowsiness and a distance control and braking mechanism that reduces the risk of rear-end collisions.
Overall, the range will consist of two diesel and three direct-injection petrol engines. Within this are two new four-cylinder models that consume up to 17 percent less fuel whilst delivering significantly more power and torque.
The 250 CDI's 2,143 cc engine has a fuel consumption figure of 5.6 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres in manual version and CO2 emissions from 135 g/km.
