Warning about election posters

A warning that election campaign workers should be aware of road safety when putting up election posters has been issued by the Road Safety Authority.

The RSA says that campaign posters should not be placed in a manner which obscures road signs, particularly those that relate to safety.

These include regulatory traffic signs, warning traffic signs, warning signs for road works and, information signs giving directions.

It is also an offence to erect any sign or notice that makes a traffic sign less visible to road users.
