TTRS in July

The new flagship of the Audi TT range, the 340hp TTRS, will be in Ireland in July.

The cost of the car, which will be available in coupe and convertible forms, will start at €83,000, with road tax in Band F.

The TTRS is powered by a new 2.5 5-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which allows a 0-100 km sprint of 4.6 seconds for the coupe.

The new car is the first compact sports car from Audi to carry the RS badging.

Although not planned as a big seller in Ireland, Audi Ireland's Deputy Director John Hayes says 'there are always enthusiasts' for such a car.

"It will also have a tremendous 'halo' effect on the whole Audi range," he added.
