Hilux to the heart of the volcano

Talk about product placement! Toyota is making much of the use of its Hilux pickups being used by scientists to place monitoring sets at the Eyjafallajökull volcano, just hours before its eruption brought chaos to the skies of Europe.

The vehicles used for the expedition were prepared by specialist firm Arctic Trucks to the same extreme environment specification as the Hilux used by Jeremy Clarkson and James May for their historic polar expedition. They were shod with giant low pressure 38-inch tyres.

Does this mean that Toyota will now produce a special limited edition for buyers named Hilux Eyjafallajökull?

It might be a bit hard on the salesmen's pronunciation capabilities.
