New engines for Q7

Audi is making radical engine changes to its Q7 SUV from this summer.

A pair of supercharged 3.0 petrol engines will replace the naturally aspirated 3.6 and 4.2 units, improving economy by 12/16 percent. And a new 3.0 diesel improves economy by a fifth, offering 240hp and CO2 emissions of 195g/km.

A new 8-speed automatic transmission also helps with economy, replacing the 6-speed Tiptronic.

No Irish prices have yet been released for the upgraded car, which goes on sale in Britain in June.
