Opel in Ireland is to target the Ford Focus C-MAX and Renault's 5-seat Scenic with its new generation Meriva, which comes to Ireland in July.
Although no prices have yet been agreed, it is believed that the value and powertrain range of the Meriva will make it a very viable competitor in the segment above its own.
The new Meriva is slightly larger than the current car, has a longer wheelbase, and features a number of packaging innovations including unique rear hinged doors which make access easier to the rear seats. It is also stylistically much more interesting.
