Mazda to run on hydrogen in Le Mans

Mazda is to compete in a new section in this year's 24 Hpours of Le Mans, with a petrol/hydrogen rotary engined car.

The section is called 'Le Mans into the Future' and will present several vehicles using alternative powertrains with electric, hybrid and natural gas as well as hydrogen.

Mazda last won the race in 1991 in the first and only rotary-engined race car.
