New BMW facility simulates the world

BMW has a new €130m facility in Munich which can simulate any climate in the world, saving the company having to send cars and people all over the globe during pre-production testing.

The Energy and Environmental Test Centre features five environmental and climate test rigs which includes the largest wind tunnel built specifically for the motor industry.

A key benefit is that tests can be re-run in exactly the same conditions, something not possible in real world testing.
