Peugeot plans to have its high-efficiency e-HDI technology made available across its full range of cars from the end of this year.
The technology package includes the company's HDI engine in various sizes to suit the relevant model, along with a stop/start system linked to an 'e-booster' instantaneous engine restart mechanism, regenerative braking, and an optimised-ratio gearbox. Fuel economy improvements of up to 15 percent are expected.
The PSA Peugeot-Citroen Group aims to sell one million vehicles equipped with e-HDi by 2013.
