Juke aims to mimic Qashqai success

When the new Nissan Juke gets to Ireland in October it will be locking horns head on with the new Mini Countryman from BMW.

The Japanese company wants to try and duplicate the success it has had with the Qashqai in the compact crossover segment, which has sold over 600,000 copies since launch.

The Juke, which has an unashamedly in-your-face 'face' of its own, is aimed at buyers in the supermini segment who want something original.

It will be available with 1.6 petrol engines and a 110hp 1.5 diesel. An AWD version will be available. Nissan is hoping that four out of five buyers will be new to the brand.
