CLS will be a B-band car

The best-selling version of the Mercedes-Benz new generation CLS will be a Band B car in Irish tax terms when it comes here early next year.

The entry-level 250 CDI model is expected to account for two-thirds of sales of the model here, and at current rates will attract an annual road tax of just €156 per year.

The BlueEfficiency technologies which are already avialble in the brand's C-Class and E-Class will feature across the new CLS range.
