The new Mazda5 will be sold only in diesel engine format when it comes to Ireland in January. Power will be from a 115hp 1.6 CO2 Band B.
The entry price is €24,995, which is €5,000 less expensive than the previous model, no longer available in Ireland. This is because the new 1.6 engine's CO2 tax performance significantly lowers the VRT.
Four specification grades will be available in the new car, which has been completely redesigned from its predecessor. They are Comfort, Executive, Executive SE and Sport. The top version will have leather seats, climate control, and Bluetooth, and will sell for €29,995.
Like the older car, the new Mazda5 can seat up to seven people and features sliding rear doors, which can be had with electric operation.
Its all-new exterior has sculpted flowing elements using the so-called Nagare-flow design shown on concept cars at recent motor shows.
Mazda Ireland has sold 2,200 cars overall in the year to date, up 40 percent on last year and gaining a 2.7 percent market share.
