ix20 on sale at end of month

Hyundai's new small crossover, the ix20, goes on sale in Ireland on October 28.

The car replaces the Matrix and will have a 90hp 1.4 diesel Band A engine.

Prices will be announced closer to the launch but it is expected to start at under €19,000. The car will come with Hyundai's 5-Year Triple Care warranty package, which includes 5 years unlimited mileage, 5 years AA Roadside Assist, and 5 years free vehicle health check.

The Irish distributor expects to sell between 300-500 units next year. At its best year the Matrix sold 300 units but the ix20 is expected to attract a wider buyer interest.

The target market profile is a mix of young and older buyers, with an emphasis on active lifestyles.

Hyundai Ireland expects to increase its overall sales here next year by 50 percent because if new models and refreshment of existing ones.
