It is big, very efficient, and the staff are wonderfully friendly.
"Well, we've got windows now," one member said with a smile. "We're no longer working in a tiny dungeon."
There are also new airline lounges, including an excellent Serviceair one which accomodates Aer Lingus Gold Circle card holders and where WiFi is free and very fast.
Altogether, Birmingham is now a very pleasant experience.
