That's the view emphasized today by the General Manager of Continental Tyres in Ireland, Paddy Murphy.
Speaking at the Continental Irish Car of the Year 2011 Awards, he noted shorter journey times on the country road networks, less road deaths, reduced CO2 through the scrappage scheme, and increased revenue to the Exchequer from the increased car sales.
Finally he noted the 210,000 increase in young adults in the country who are the future customers of the industry.
"There are a lot of them coming down the track," he said. "So don't lose hope."
