The wagon version of the new generation Subaru Legacy goes on sale in Ireland in December, retailing at €41,995.
The car is wider, taller and longer than the one it replaces and has a 5-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash test regime.
The car is powered by Subaru's own 2.0 boxer-format diesel, outputting 150hp and offering 350Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard.
The engine's efficiency has been improved by 12 percent compared to that in the older car.
