The 4-seat Ampera runs on battery only power for up to 80kms, after which a petrol engine will kick in to recharge the battery and provide electric power to continue driving for up to 500kms.
Plug-in battery recharging takes three hours.
The quoted price includes 19 percent VAT, so the Irish price, when announced, will reflect different tax rates here.
