New C-Class detailed

The next generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be launched in the spring of 2011. M-B has released pictures and details of the new car which will include new engines that offer up to 31 percent better fuel consumption compared to the current range.

In addition there will be 10 new assistance systems related to safety, as well as a new generation of telematics which includes internet access in some markets.

Style changes include substantial revisions to the front end, while efficiency is helped by the use of aluminium in sheetmetal components such as the bonnet.

The M-B 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission has been improved, while stop-start will also be available. An aerodynamics indicator of 0.26 represents a very 'slippery' saloon indeed.

Engines include 1.8 and 3.5 petrol units in C and D bands, and 2.2 diesels in Band A and B categories.
