An MPV version of Toyota's Prius has been debuted at the Detroit Auto Show, the next move in the company's plans to extend the Prius family.
The Prius-v has 50 percent more room than the Prius hatch, with 970 litres of load space behind the rear seats. It is a 5-seat model only.
The car will be launched in the US this summer. Plans for Europe haven't yet been detailed.
The powertrain and platform are the same as those which underpin the current Prius, a plug-in version of which is on evaluation at the moment in Ireland.
