Peugeot Ireland reveals 508 prices

Peugeot has announced price and specification details for the new 508, replacement to the Peugeot 407, due for launch in Ireland this April.

Prices start from €24,850 plus dealer delivery related charges and the car will be available from launch in both saloon and SW guise. Three trims will be offered: Access, Active and Allure.

Standard equipment across the range will include ESP, alarm and deadlocks, air conditioning, front and rear electric windows, a full size spare wheel and front fog lamps.

Interior dimensions of the 508 are on a par with those of the 607 and are much improved in relation to the 407 to give rear passengers more leg room.

The 508 will be available in Ireland with a choice of four diesel engines, including the 1.6 e-HDi with a 112bhp stop/start engine matched to an electronically controlled Ecomatique gearbox. It qualifies for Band A €104 annual road tax. The 1.6 HDi 112bhp manual and the 2.0 HDi 140bhp 6-speed engines both qualify for Band B €156 annual road tax. The 2.0 HDi 163bhp 6-speed full automatic offering qualifies for Band C €302 road tax.

HYbrid4 technology will be introduced to the 508 range in 2012.
