Gavin Satchwell is the winner of the Land Rover Discovery 4 competition on Series 3 of the TG4 programme Feirm Factor, sponsored by Land Rover Ireland.
The series took 12 farmers from across the country and challenged their farming skills, business acumen and physical and mental endurance. The aim was to find Ireland's top farmer.
After nine tough weeks of silage, sweat and tears, 12 farmers where whittled down to three by the judges which included Alan Dukes (Economist), Sean O'Lionaird (One of Ireland's top Dairy Farmers and General Farming Expert) and co-judge RTE's Maura Derrane before they selected Gavin as the Feirm Factor Champion 2011.
Gavin is a 25-year-old from Maynooth in Co Kildare who has worked on his family farm all his life. He also manages his own farm in Athboy.
