More than 34,600 new cars have been registered in Ireland in the first two months of this year, according to Motorcheck.ie
Year-to-date, the top selling cars are Toyota's Avensis (1,817), VW Golf (1,568), Toyota Corolla (1,311), VW Passat (1,151), and Ford Fiesta (1,133).
Toyota has four cars in the Top Ten including the Auris (1,049) and the Yaris (1,025) while Ford has two including the Focus (1,023) on run-out.
The other cars in the Top Ten are Renault's Fluence (1,067) and Nissan's Qashqai (1,006).
Scrappage Scheme figures released by SIMI show that 2,251 cars have been recorded under the Scheme so far this year. This represents €14 million in revenue for the Exchequer.
