Pat Brazil of Ford Ireland's LCV division got a surprise today when he was presented with a cake by a group of Irish van journalists outside Munich.
The official event was the international launch of the 5th Stage powertrains for the Transit Van, but word escaped that Pat had recently reached the 40 years of service milestone with Ford. So the cake appeared at a time when he least expected it.
"It was the second time in the last couple of weeks I was caught about this," he said as he dug into the cake to share it around. "When Bill Ford was over touring Ireland recently he presented me with a certificate to mark the 40 years. I wasn't expecting it, but for the two of us who got the certificates that day, they will be very special ones."
