ESB ecars and Maxol launch two new fast charge points

ESB ecars and Maxol have launched new fast-charge points at Maxol's Riverside Service Station in Navan and Maxol Gorey. These will provide electric car drivers with two new convenient charging locations, one of the main Dublin Road, within easy reach of the M3 motorway, and the other on the Arklow Road on the N11. These installations are part of the roll out of a network of 30 fast charge points nationwide by ESB ears and its retail partners.

Fast charge points allow drivers to 'power up' their electric cars from zero to 80 per cent of their capacity in less than 30 minutes and facilitate journeys between urban centers. ESB ears has a target to install 3,500 charge points nationally, which includes 2,000 domestic units and a further 1,500 public charge points. Maxol currently has a network of 218 service stations and 22 authorized heating oil distributors throughout the country.

The Government have set a target of 10 per cent of all vehicles to be electric by 2020.
