Fiat has substantially refreshed its Punto hatch for 2012, writes Brian Byrne, with significant changes to the front and rear style treatment, and adding the 900cc TwinAir engine in 85hp form.
An upgraded version of the 85hp 1.3 MultiJet 2 is also available. The engine CO2 emissions are 98g.km and 90g/km respectively.
The TwinAir offers two different operating modes that can be selected by pressing a button on the dashboard. Normal provides full engine performance while Eco limits the torque and reduces fuel consumption.
Some 8.5 million Puntos have been sold since the nameplate was first rolled out in 1993.
