Toyota market leader in January

Toyota Ireland has had a great start to 2012 with 3,422 passenger vehicles sold in January, positioning them as the leading car brand for 2012 so far, writes Trish Whelan.

This represents a 16 percent share of new vehicle sales, as revealed in SIMI's January 2012 report on registration numbers for passenger vehicles.

Toyota was also the leading passenger car brand for 2011 with sales of 11,646 passenger vehicles. Toyota has ranked No. One in the passenger vehicle market in eight out of the last eleven years.

New Yaris and 2012 Avensis (pictured) are No. One in both their segments so far this year.
