Volvo Car Ireland has launched automatic DRIVe diesels with the same fuel consumption as manual versions, writes Trish Whelan.
DRIVe is now available with an automatic gearbox in S60, V60, S80 and V70 (pictured above).
Using Volvo's latest generation power shift 6-speed automatic gearbox, class leading efficiency and C02 figures have been achieved, providing a unique customer offer from the larger Volvo S80 and V70.
It's the latest step in the brand's drive towards zero emissions. These DRIVe models are now open to be ordered with Volvo's Powershift dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The S60 DRIVe Automatic (pictured left) returns 4.3 L/100km (65.7mpg); the V60 returns 4.5 L/100kms (62.8mpg); both the V70 and S80 use 4.5 L/100kms (62.8mpg). All are sub 12g of C02 and so fall into Band A for VRT and Road Tax.
Customers can now order a DRIVe Powershift with production starting mid-February. Recommended retail prices start at €34,764 for the S60 DRIVe, €36,797 for the V60, €40,654 for the V70 and €37,605 for the S80.
