Just flew in for a visit

This is the Terrafugia Transition, a realisation of a dream that goes back to the 1920s of building a car that flies.

It lands in the New York Auto Show tomorrow, and has a current price tag of $279,000. The one here is a 'street legal' prototype which first flew just over a week ago in Plattsburg NY.

The 2-seater is aimed at the 600 or so 'fly-in' communities in the US where people use their planes to commute and park them at their own houses around their airfield.

We think there's scope for an aftermarket option that would put a removable bed on the back and turn it into a pickup for non-flying use.
